Nokia 7110 : First WAP-enabled nokia GSM mobile phones
Nokia has introduced several WAP products targeted to consumers, operators and other industry partners. Earlier this year Nokia introduced its first WAP compatible mobile phone, the Nokia 7110 dual band phone.
The Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is a new advanced intelligent messaging service for digital mobile phones and other mobile terminals that will allow you to see Internet content in special text format on special WAP-enabled GSM mobile phones.
WAP hides the complexity of GSM on the application layer, just as the Web has done for the Internet. It spans a variety of transport options and devices, including SMS, 9.6 kbit/s GSM data, HSCSD, and GPRS, making the underlying network technologies blend together from the user's standpoint.
Nokia 7110 GSM phone built by Nokia after the 'Matrix' film. After the success of the Matrix movie, Nokia designed the 7110 using an automatic opening slide, bigger screen, better features and a chameleon green/purple pearlescent paint finish. So this model, although not actually used in the movie, was Nokia's version of what the Matrix phone should have been.
The smart Navi Roller offers fast access to information while predictive T9 Text Input enables you to write fast.
