Nokia 8110 : 'Banana' phone As used in the 'Matrix' film

The Nokia 8146 is a veritable antique in handset terms but a great many are still in use and more are probably lingering in the back of drawers or cupboards having been replaced by the next new thing.

The nokia 8110 is one of the best looking mobile phones around. It has the famous chrome surface and is easily small and light enough to carry around easily - you hardly know the phone is there.

It features an ‘active slide’, which means that calls can be answered or terminated by opening or closing the sliding cover. It has a small fixed antenna (about 25mm long). Physically it has a curved shape that gave the handset its nickname - the banana phone. The phone has a keypad slider which protects the keys, although it does get scratched easily. So, the phone looks good but how does it preform? Well, the phone has all the features you could ever want including a personal planner, a calculator and some games. One of the only bad things about this phone is that the battery is NIMH and provides poor

standby and talk time. The phone is not dual band either. The menu is easy to use and all this put together makes this a great phone, its expensive but its worth it!
